  • Learners celebrate National Apprenticeship Week with Kettering Job Centre

    Published 23/02/26, by Stacey Morris

Learners from Creating Tomorrow College – Kettering Campus visited the local Jobcentre recently as part of celebrating National Apprenticeship Week.

The session, hosted by the team at Kettering Jobcentre, provided learners with a valuable insight into employment support, apprenticeships and routes into work. Events like this help strengthen understanding of the support available to people of all ages to reach their full potential, reinforcing that careers education and future readiness begins long before a first job or apprenticeship.

As part of the wider national drive to support career development and skills, the Jobcentre team delivered an engaging Apprenticeship Week event, welcoming learners and sharing practical information about training pathways, workplace support and next steps as learners prepare for adulthood.

  • Work Experience in Action at Daventry Hill School

    Published 13/02/26, by Stacey Morris

At Daventry Hill School (DHS), work experience is more than just time spent in a workplace; it is a carefully supported, meaningful pathway that builds confidence, independence and future ambition.

In line with the government’s modern work experience agenda, we are committed to ensuring that every learner has access to high-quality, purposeful and inclusive experiences that reflect real employment environments. Modern work experience is about more than observation; it is about participation, contribution and understanding what the world of work truly offers.

For us, work experience is not confined to a single moment in the academic calendar. While we recognise the benefits of the traditional two-week block placement, delivered in isolation, it often does not provide the depth of understanding or sustained skill development that many learners need.

That is why we promote and deliver work experience throughout the entire academic year. A longer-term, structured approach allows learners to build familiarity, confidence and competence over time, rather than feeling overwhelmed by a short, intensive placement.

By working closely with employers, we ensure placements are planned at times that align with organisational needs and operational requirements. This flexible, partnership-led model benefits both learners and employers, creating meaningful, manageable and impactful experiences that support real progression.

    Published 05/02/26, by Stacey Morris

At Creating Tomorrow Trust, we believe that supporting our learners also means supporting the families around them. Families play a vital role in young people’s lives, and when they feel confident, valued and empowered, the impact can be felt across the whole community.

That’s why we are proud to offer a growing adult learning programme in both the West and North of the county, designed to support families with self-development, wellbeing and the opportunity to explore new interests and skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.

  • Daventry Hill School Recognised as Officially Amazing by Amazing Apprenticeships

    Published 04/02/26, by Stacey Morris

We are incredibly proud to share that Daventry Hill School has been recognised as Officially Amazing by Amazing Apprenticeships, a national organisation championing high-quality apprenticeships and careers education across the UK.

This recognition celebrates the school’s strong commitment to delivering meaningful, inclusive and aspirational Future Readiness education, ensuring that learners are supported to explore a wide range of future pathways, including apprenticeships, in ways that are accessible and relevant to their individual needs.

    Celebrating High-Quality Future Readiness Education

Being named Officially Amazing highlights the thoughtful and strategic approach Daventry Hill School takes to Future Readiness. Creating Tomorrow sites have a strong emphasis on helping learners understand the world of work, develop confidence, and explore realistic pathways that support their aspirations, strengths and ambitions.

We believe it is never too early to start inspiring and supporting our young people to explore the different routes available to them in the future, and this begins at the age of 4 for some.

Apprenticeships form an important part of this conversation. By promoting apprenticeships as a valuable and achievable option, the school helps learners and families to see them as a credible route into employment, training and long-term independence.

This work is embedded across the school’s wider careers programme and aligns with national best practice, ensuring learners receive consistent, high-quality guidance and opportunities as they prepare for adulthood.

    A Collective Effort

This achievement is very much a team effort. A huge thank you goes to the dedicated staff at Daventry Hill School who work tirelessly to create engaging, learner-centred future readiness provision. Their commitment ensures that future readiness is not a one-off activity, but an ongoing journey that evolves alongside learners’ needs.

We are equally grateful to our engaged learners, whose enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to try new experiences bring this work to life, and to our employer and training provider partners, whose support helps turn aspirations into meaningful opportunities.

Strong partnerships are at the heart of this success, enabling learners to access real-world insight, explore different industries and build confidence through supported experiences.
