Learners from Creating Tomorrow College – Kettering Campus visited the local Jobcentre recently as part of celebrating National Apprenticeship Week.
The session, hosted by the team at Kettering Jobcentre, provided learners with a valuable insight into employment support, apprenticeships and routes into work. Events like this help strengthen understanding of the support available to people of all ages to reach their full potential, reinforcing that careers education and future readiness begins long before a first job or apprenticeship.
As part of the wider national drive to support career development and skills, the Jobcentre team delivered an engaging Apprenticeship Week event, welcoming learners and sharing practical information about training pathways, workplace support and next steps as learners prepare for adulthood.
Thank you to the Jobcentre team and to all the staff who took time to speak with learners. The event was a brilliant opportunity for young people to ask questions, hear about the pathways available and make connections that will help inform future decisions about careers, apprenticeships and training.
Supporting our learners to understand the world of work is a collaborative effort. Working with organisations such as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Jobcentre Plus helps bridge the gap between education and employment support, ensuring learners and families know where to go for advice, opportunities and personalised guidance.
This reflects a commitment to empowering young people to explore career pathways with confidence, whether that’s apprenticeships, further training, supported internships or other employment routes. It also supports the national focus on skills and work readiness, recognising that early engagement and access to information boosts confidence and outcomes.
Thank you once again to the team at Kettering Jobcentre. We look forward to continuing this partnership and creating more opportunities for our learners to engage with local employers, employment support services and training providers.
