For the second year in a row, the choir from Daventry Hill School was invited to perform at the Prologis annual festive meeting, an invitation that speaks volumes about the impression our learners made last year.
This year’s event was nothing short of magical. With the winter sun shining brightly across the Prologis site, learners stepped forward with smiles, confidence, and unmistakable enthusiasm, ready to share the festive songs they had been practising for weeks. Their joy was infectious.
For our learners, opportunities like this mean far more than a performance. Being invited to such an event gives them the chance to step out of the classroom and into new environments, each one offering its own learning experiences.
Learners were able to:
Explore a professional workplace, giving them a sense of what future employment settings might feel like
Meet new people, developing confidence in social interactions
Feel valued, knowing that their contribution mattered to an external organisation
Showcase their talents, which is so important for self-esteem and personal pride
Every performance, every smile, and every round of applause helps our learners build belief in themselves. For some, singing in public is a huge step. For others, travelling to a new place or meeting new faces is a challenge they courageously embrace. These experiences support essential Preparation for Adulthood outcomes, including confidence, communication, independence, and community engagement.
What made this visit especially memorable was the warmth and encouragement shown by the Prologis team. Staff welcomed our learners with genuine enthusiasm, creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where young people felt safe, supported, and celebrated.
Our ongoing work with Prologis highlights something we are passionate about at Creating Tomorrow Trust:
Employer engagement can take place in a whole host of different ways.
For some employers, engagement looks like site tours, talks, or work experience. For others, it’s participating in projects, job-shadowing, or hands-on skill sessions. And then there are opportunities, like this one where employers invite our learners into their world in ways that are meaningful, enjoyable, and accessible to everyone.
Supporting a school doesn’t always have to be about careers in the traditional sense. It can be about building confidence. Opening doors. Creating memories. Helping young people feel included in their local community. Something we are deeply passionate about at Creating Tomorrow.
The choir’s performance is a perfect example of how creative engagement can have a powerful impact. It strengthens relationships, promotes visibility of young people with SEND, and shows employers the unique strengths and talents our learners bring.
At Creating Tomorrow Trust, we believe strongly in thinking differently. We look for employer opportunities that match the strengths, interests, and needs of our learners whether those opportunities take the form of volunteering, performances, workshops, visits, or something entirely new. Our goal is always to ensure learners experience the real world in ways that are safe, supportive, and tailored to them.
We are deeply grateful to Prologis for inviting us back and for recognising the value of including young people with SEND in community and corporate events. Their continued support shows what true partnership looks like: consistent, thoughtful, and grounded in a genuine desire to make a difference.
Opportunities like this help young people feel seen, heard, and celebrated and for that, we couldn’t be more thankful.
