Today a group of our Year 9 students proudly hosted their very own Afternoon Tea for residents from Burton Oaks Residential Care Home and what an amazing afternoon it was.
From the very beginning, students took full ownership of the event: planning, organising, creating and delivering every part with teamwork, and creativity. Their hard work truly paid off
So, what did the afternoon looked like:
Delicious tea, sandwiches, fruit and cakes made and served by the students
Live music entertainment from a student
Games - bingo and a game the students made
Wonderful conversations and laughter shared between students and residents
Beautifully decorated tables creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere
The residents had a beautiful afternoon, filled with smiles. They commented on how lovely it was to chat with the students, enjoy the refreshments, and spend time together.
The residents surprised the Isebrook students with a cake, a beautiful acknowledgement of the intergenerational connection and, as a thank you for inviting them. It was a pleasure having them, and we thank them for spending the afternoon with us.
✨ A massive well done to our students and the wonderful careers team at Isebrook for making this happen.
They stepped out of their comfort zones, demonstrated fantastic employability skills, and worked incredibly hard to bring this event to life. From customer service and leadership to problem-solving and hospitality, they shone in every area.
At Creating Tomorrow, Partnership and community working is something we pride ourselves on, and so if you would like to get involved and work with sites such as Isebrook School, please do get in touch we would love to hear from you.
