Curriculum & Policies

At Creating Tomorrow Partnership, our priority is to support the development of happy and successful adults.

Recognising the importance of a robust Careers Education and Guidance Programme, we focus on preparing our learners for adulthood. Across our sites, our program might be seen on the timetable as employability, enterprise, futures, PFA (Preparation for Adulthood). Wherever the site, it has been carefully designed to help learners, where appropriate and meaningful, to achieve a positive future outcome. This could be employment - whether paid, voluntary, attending day services, or further education. Ultimately, it aims to support all learners in becoming positive members of society.

We acknowledge the diverse abilities, needs, ambitions, and plans of our learners for their lives beyond Creating Tomorrow Partnership. Our goal is to prepare young people for paths that are most appropriate and realistic for them. We adopt a person-centred approach, collaborating directly with the young person, their families, and external agencies. This approach ensures learners have a voice and control when making significant decisions about their future education, lifestyle choices, and career options. Impartial information and advice is provided by a Level 6 trained Careers Guidance practitioner.

Our purpose at Creating Tomorrow Partnership is to embed core competency skills throughout the curriculum, ensuring all learners have access to skills development and work-related learning. This approach progressively develops throughout their time with us, encouraging learners to identify, develop, and utilise their abilities. Our carefully designed and regularly updated careers programme supports the diverse needs of our learners. It encompasses not only core competency skills through skills development, but also essential skills, life skills, social skills, communication, relationships, and independence.

We actively support the national careers strategy to prepare our young people in the best way possible. We are working towards achieving all eight of the Gatsby Benchmarks across all sites and collaborate closely with supporting agencies such as Skills Builder, SEMLEP, and the Careers & Enterprise Programme.

Throughout the year, learners participate in various career activities alongside the employability/PFA curriculum. These are tailored to support our learners, and to ensure we are stretching our learners where both relevant and meaningful. We are always seeking new partners to help us deliver, so please do get in touch here if you are able to support.#
